Hero of the Week: Rita Levi-Montalcini

The good don't always die young, thank Zeus. I haven't got as many marbles as this woman now, never mind at 100. It's refreshing, too, that extreme old age doesn't automatically have to mean a descent into unthreateningly platitudinous niceyness:

'Not all human beings should live to a 100 though, even if this were biologically possible. “No. There is no room. If we all lived to be a 100 or more, there would be no space for the newborn.” '
